Longing to be Unmasked

MelanieA

she covered her face daily
she never wanted people to see her real self
but deep down she knew she wanted to be unmasked.

she wanted someone to see her
someone to truly see her that is.

she longed to find that one person that would unmask her
someone that wouldn't care about the mask
someone who only wanted to see her.

however, every time she thinks she can be unmasked
circumstances force her to put the mask back on.

one day she will be unmasked
but until that day comes,
she proudly wears her mask
as if it is really her.

Good write. Everybody wears masks in different situations. Welcome to MPS.

I don't know if this was on purpose but the use of zero capitalization really allows you see the vulnerability of the author.

Bold choice. I love it. Well read.

You stand unmasked before God so why not everyone else . If God likes you as you really are then it doesn't matter what others think .
