Rejoicing Resoundings

Fits tune: Ruth

('Summer suns are glowing')

********

Psalm 121 v.1 - 3

I will lift up my eyes

And my soul arise

Look unto the hills high

For my help is nigh

It comes from the Lord sure

He will keep e'ermore

His servants, His children

Young, old, women, men

Psalm 122 v.6 - 7

Pray for peace of city

Jerusalem, be

City where the Lord dwells

Evry tongue it tells

That they shall true prosper

Who love you, hearts stir

To seek its good welfare

God's presence is there

Psalm 124 parts

If the LORD has us not

Helped, unhappy lot

Would our state be, we say

Light had turned away

But the LORD did us hear

Came to us, drew near

Freed us from enemy

Escaped now, we free

Psalm 125 v.1

They that in the LORD trust

Though we are mere dust

They shall be as Zion

Mount of God, the one

Which cannot be removed

But constant renewed

Does abide for ever

Vanishes never

Psalm 126 v.1 - 2

When the LORD did turn sure

Captivity sore

Of His people, then we

Were as dreamers, see

Then our mouth it was filled

With laughter, not stilled

And our tongue with singing

Was filled, praise did ring

And including views of a sunny Whitby Fish Market, if you live there, holiday there! The original hymn is by Bishop William Walsham How, also the author of 'For All The Saints'.

Good write. Had the best fish and chips ever in Whitby and I still remember the cost. Fish chips, bread and butter and a cup of tea £3.50. The piece of fish over hung both side of the plate!
