Father's Day barbi......
It was Father's Day here, in the U.K. Today.
Sun beaming down, of a million strong ray.
The barbecue cooking, with all sorts of delight,
That I will be eating, till late in the night.
There was beef, chicken, turkey and ham,
And even that old favourite, a few tins of spam.
Lots of beer, spirit, wine and much more,
That we all consumed, until some hit the floor.
Music be playing and laughter out loud,
No problems from neighbours, as they've joined the crowd.
Lots of eating and fun, was had late in the night,
But my next day problem, was a WC plight.
I'd say I visited it, at least five or six times
As What goes in, doesn't necessarily bind.
I awoke next afternoon, from a deep alcohol rest,
To be greeted by, an almighty festival size mess.
It's weird how pizza, tastes better next day,
A quick microwave and I was well on my way.
Then the hair of the dog and a couple of cans,
I set about cleaning, making use of my shaking hands.
Thankful of paper plates and a hundred plastic cups,
Everything went in bag and then Just tied right up.
Would I have another barbecue, is what I now say.
Absolutely I would, I'm cooking what was left,on one today.
