Walking at night
With the moon
Hanging like
A Pinata
Above my head
If I had a stick
I could hit it
And candy would rain
Down on me
Like confetti
Moon candy
Nobody ever had any
Moon candy
I would be the first
And could get rich
And famous
But I had no stick

- Comment from author about the poem: I wrote this poem back in February. Kind of a metaphor of missed opportunities, or maybe of the impossible dream.

Nicely written alfred
Sweetly sad piece that is highly relatable. Enjoyed you.
Love this Fred...
all things are possible
esp' ecially
in our dreams
want some candy?
Thanks so much everybody! I think no matter what we should keep on dreaming! And Robert, I guess I am getting a little bit too old for eye candy. But like a beautiful painting, I can appreciate a beautiful lady.
Every sunrise is a second chance. Find that stick 😉 great write alfred 😊
Thanks Renzi, I have been looking for it all my life!
Other the from the sad part that you did not have a stick I liked it very much. I felt some innocence on it. When I was a kid I always dreamed about being left locked inside a candy store and had to spend the night there eating all those delicious candy. My first job I was only thirteen and when I've got my first paycheck what was cash I run to the candy store and bought a basket full of candy. I ate so much candy that day that for a long time after I could not see candy without feeling sick. And the dream never came back.
You are right, there is an underlying tone of innocence, of the dream to hit it big with something, no matter what. But also of the knowledge that it is not that easy. A lot of times something is missing, like a stick.
If you find a stick, Archimedes says you could move the planet closer to the moon and get your moon candy.
Thanks Aa, but it would have to be a real big stick!
