Post Traumatic Stress Disorder

SapphireOceane

I long to feel alive,

Yet people say that the day you stop feeling is the day you die,

In which case I definitely do not feel dead.

Because I do feel.

My feelings are an abandoned forest fire,

They just keep burning, and burning

Till there is nothing left but the ashes of what was once happiness.

My feelings are gasoline.

My thoughts are the match,

And my PTSD is the force that strikes it.

WELCOME SAPPHIRE (lovely name !) ~ Thanks for your first poem and being so brave and frank about your PTSD. Because you are so young ~ and beautiful ~ it made me very sad. I work with 16+ Students in a Vocational College and some have specific needs (such as PTSD) so i can empathise. Please be brave and think positively and claim each minute of each new day ~ MPS is a very loving site ~ Thinking of you and Praying for you ~ Yours BRIAN (UK).
