Goodbye

Krystal Brewington

Another soul taken,

To soon, to fast,

And we can't help

But to wonder why?

A beautiful smile

With a heart of gold

So sweet and innocent

She wasn't very old.

But God whispered

it's time for her to go.

Just a little baby

Barley started life

No chance to grow

And experience the adventures in life.

But we are thankful

For the little time

We did get with you

Thankful that God chose us

To give you to.

I know your in heaven

Smiling down on us

For we will remember you always

That you can trust.

Tears rolling down or cheeks

Our hearts broken in two.

With out you here with us

We don't know what to do.

You brought us so much happiness

Love and laughter to

Now crying and being sad

That's all we can do.

We will never get to see you walk

Or run around and play,

But I believe in heaven

your able to do these thangs.

Never again hold you in my arms

Or wipe away your tears.

Never get to kiss you

Or hold you when your scared.

Going on with out you

Will be so hard to do.

Where to even start

I don't have a clue.

Tomorrow as we lay you to rest,

I will do my best

To let them do what they need to

And say goodbye to you.

Which will be the hardest thing

In my life I have ever had to do.

  • Comment from author about the poem: This is another poem I wrote about my two friends who lost their baby. I don't know I can't stop thinking about it and the feeling of how they gotta feel and the words to write down just keep coming to me. Hope y'all enjoy it.

There is so much emotion in these few words, the pain nearly visible. And yet, we go on.....

It is one of the most awful things imaginable. Recently, my friend lost her little grandson in a drowning accident. It's hard to process. Your heart obviously aches for them.
