What I'd tell my younger self. You're right! you're going through hell, yes nothing hurts more than having your heart ripped out, stamped on, spat at and ignored. Having to put it in a carrier bag, no longer wanting it to be yours, just asking for this all to stop as life just feels though it is a battle of endless Wars.
For this you was right and one day you'll understand that it started way before you were even born, but the cycle has slowly been changing for good. For you will make that change you so desperately needed, that words, and the human touch will be your main currency. You'll one day have this in all the company you keep and attract, then those endless wars will be with helping others not yours.
Have courage and be brave
For we are all on the same stage

A good poem ... made great by the last phrase! Well done, Dan!
Very humbled. Thank you
Oh, I love this exhortation to your younger self! Touching and inspiring.
Words so kind, I thank you for helping me feel good to share my all 😉
I think we all reflect and wish we could speak to ourselves when we were younger. I really enjoyed this.
Thank you so much, I've been asked this question through our my life. And at 1am this morning after reading someone else's work, my brain started to do this 😉

The stage of life shuns no man. Let's all put on a good show. Speak the truth friend.
Ah like words to my inner song, thank you. my stage is a musical, a bit of drama, death and as always lots frolicking fun! Definitely no anger or aggression (okay, a bit. No hate though)
Your truth feels wise my friend, truly thank you for commenting.
Forged in fire makes for strong iron. You my man are iron with heart.
It's taken time to let go of it all
But with words like yours
I'm sure to stay my course
Thank you truly with all of this forged Iron Heart
Good write and the last two lines are very true.
Thank you sir, Shakespeare sort of said it first.
Just seen you may of never noticed I put your reply in the wrong place..
Just always want to acknowledge every comment that is made
Thank you sir, Shakespeare sort of said it first 😉
