Moon Cable

Noveyre

Drifting out to a lunar tide, falling off this world of mine

swept away to ocean space, connected by a moon cable

that anchors me to homely Earth when I'd prefer a fable

Something to make me waver, or cower where I am

to envoke emotion like no other fiction can,

what could ignite conviction to engender a discovery

or writing so rapturous as to persuade philosophy!

By an author like an astronaut, with sentences like telescopes

enlightening me to an abyss existing right above us

hanging there forevermore, temptation to the wanderlust

Connected solely by a moon cable, I'm falling off the world

the very edge is of no threat to a madman who would jump

to an unknown place, like pages unfurled in a book you've never read

vanish in the novel night to somewhere else instead.

The last line sent shivers down my spine. I can't deny that it's good. "Moon Cable" is a very abstract title, and is the reason why I read this. With a little sprucing up, this would be even better. Nicely done all the same.

I think a little tweaking is in order, but I'm glad you enjoyed!
