We love who we love

Emile Dubois

We love who we love
And yet the song remains the same
In our hearts a knowing
In our actions a grace
Nothing can erase that feeling
Nothing can change that face
We love who we love
With no foreboding of spirit
just a space for being
Growing within each other
Growing without haste
We love who we love
A sensation that cinders
Always approaching an end
A short lingering glow
A mirror for our souls
A mirror to our senses
We love who we love
Everything else is merely for show
What price fame?
What price freedom?
Yet love is exempt
It is all without exception
