That time of the week

Renzi

It's came that lovely time of the week
I love so much I can barely speak

A short wee dander down the street
As I walk my heart races in the summer heat

I arrive, open the door and patiently wait
Twiddle my thumbs and contemplate (running)

My name appears before my eyes
I take a breath and slowly rise

Enter another room, and there she's sat
Good morning Renzi , 'brief chitchat'

The needle goes in with a nip to the touch
Oh the weekly bloods I love so much

Just a little scratch they say as they stab you - missing the vein. Laughed out loud at the (running). 'Patiently wait' (can't visualise that one). Once again from 'a day in the life of Renzi' you pluck a nugget and place it before us with such style. Love it!

Good write. Some years ago I had a problem where my blood kept on having to be tested and I swear that an alert was put out to all the doctors surgeries to look out for me, drag me off the street and take some more blood. All is well now.

Stealing your blood where they.. the cheek haha!! Awh for near 2 years now i've suffered with hypokalemia. Even on meds. So very annoying i tell ya. So very annoying.

I can't watch as they draw my blood for fear of getting light headed. Squeamish when it comes to seeing the parts of us that exist inside, probably a past life thing. Thanks for this relatable poem, Renzi!

Awh im totally with you there.. and here is me covered in tattoos, you'd think it was a walk in the park for me .. pffft!

Can't speak, racing heart, contemplating running, taking deep breaths.....this sounds like a major, life-threatening operation. What a build-up!
                  Then a little nip...what let-down!
Wasn't it Shakespeare who said 'Much ado about nothing'?

Just teasing Renzi, I like it!!!

Renzi, I did laugh too cause I saw you as a little girl afraid of the needle. So cute the way you white. Just love it.

                    • Renzi

All these tattoos and still the needle that draws the blood scares the wits of me haha! I'm mustard!!

I always anticipate Renzi's slice of life scribes! Wouldn't it be better if they at least rewarded you with a little sweet?

                      • Renzi

Omg you're right!! I mean that would definitely make the event all the more fair haha
