Never in Return.

kevin browne

So it's time to write a story but the idea will surely find a way
We can make it up as we go along because we see it every day
Open up a blanket and feel the warmth inside a heart so dear
Taking stuff for granted with bubble gum stuck on the upper floor
Ceilings filled with nicotine and every inch a wall can hear or see
Carpets with the memory of the dust that caused a hole or two
Tables with four sturdy legs and with all the knuckles clenched
Skiving off some school to find another time for us to smoke a fag
When daddy called for attention the children were beaten up
Never knowing what to ask when everyone mentioned not to
Flowers bright and lazy for anyone who would like to get wet
Smiles in the high street when some shopping fell out the till
Church yards filled crosses and a rainbow from grave to grave
Welcoming entrances which opened the book of life for studying
Ships told the ghosts to sit down, relax and go scare its coffin
Turning up on time is why bothered became too interested in love
Chairs rocking all over the world so it's time for granddad to sing
And we clap our hands for the seagulls who took our fish n chips
Begin to understand the idea of which the whole world fights against
Never in return is a thought of evil considered to be even real
Sands we burn our feet on are the holidays of someone's life
Clouds dream along with the weather and we all dream along too
Forget the happiness that broke your skin and mended your heart
Tangled engagements causing ripples across the pond to die
Lakes are drowning in the heat when every time a swimmer calls
Leaving a suspicion of course just to see if this is the last line
Trust in life, this beautiful world, a selfless worth means every thing's fine.

Powerful read as always so much to digest. I'm watch the thunder and lighting while my thoughts drifting from your words, or just play the guitar and turn them into sounds

I had the most amazing experience with it, I tried to record my playing after this comment. Then took a walk in the middle of the storm, I've written it out but it needs some work. I'll hopefully post it in a few days.
