How to Kill a Dream

Ren

Start with fear

Add a heavy dose of self-doubt

A sprinkle of criticism from others

And sharpen the blade of reality

Finally, swing hard

Crack.

The beautiful dream weakens

And you swing again

Crack.

The process repeats itself

Over and over and over again

Weakening dream after dream

And slowly crushing a soul

You’re not only killing my dream

You're killing me as well

The blade hits again further damaging me

But it won’t break

No matter

How hard you swing

How much fear there is

How the words of other hurt me

Because I will always get back up

Beaten and bloody, but alive

 You think

Why won't this dream die?

Because I won't let it

I will not go down without a fight
