The past
hindsight
listening to one's mistakes
learning becoming more,
growing forgiving oneself.
We cannot let the past define us
for then we have no future
Who said life needs to be fair?
The present
blindness
seeking the unobtainable and blaming others
Constantly looking up
and failing to see the beauty around them
The blind leading the blind
Who said life was fair?
The future
Destruction
A world used up
No harmony no freedom no love
Was life fair?

- Comment from author about the poem: Trying to show true changes of societies attitudes. The past we used to take responsibility for our actions, and now we pass blame. The future will only hold destruction unless we take responsibility for ourselves again.

Nicely stated poet, I too need to practice this mantra more
Or maybe I just ran out of wind.
Again good write. 🍻
thank you. The one thing that worries me most in this world is what are we going to leave for our children and grandchildren. At the rate things are going, not much.
Good write. Life isn't necessarily fair but if you can learn from it it makes life better.
Exactly. Learning from our mistakes used to be paramount to growth, now blaming others for our mistakes is commonplace. Not to mention we keep repeating the same mistakes from history.
