Wisdom

FredPeyer

The wisdom I have learned

Always was hard earned

All the mistakes I made

Had to be fully re-paid

Nothing in life is free

So it’s up to us to see

That we learn from it

At least a tiny little bit

And wisely use that power

To build our ivory tower

Containing all we know

So our minds can grow

No mistakes repeated twice

Solely focused on the prize

Good write and so true. You cannot teach experience.

    • FredPeyer

Thank u Goldfinch! As they say, experience is recognizing a mistake the second time you make it.

      what is the prize?

      • FredPeyer

The prize my dear Pauly is wisdom coming from experience.

A fine poem with attention to form, which I find quite pleasing. Well done, Fred!

              Just wishful thinking b-e!

Wise words. They say once is a mistake and twice is a choice. Maybe it is. Perhaps it's a glitch of frail reasoning skills. Regardless, you are correct that we will repay. Nice!

Heather, so sorry, just saw your comment now.
Somewhere above I said that recognizing a mistake the second time you make it is called experience. But you are right also, but it is a bad choice. And yes, repay we will. What goes around comes around.
                Waiting for your next poem!

For those who love wisdom, this write is a gem. "Containing all we know, So our minds can grow", well said! And to think there are so many whose minds have gone through arrested development and stopped growing thenceforth. The pity of it. For such folks, brain death precedes corporal death by many years. Thanks for that timely reminder FredP!
