.Living In A Distant Memory.

Overtheedge

At night I search through memories
Rummage through the days we spent together...
Question where I went wrong.

Unable to see,
Unable to let go,
Unable to feel.

I replay the memory once more,
This time a different version
Wondering...
How could this girl be me?

So vulnerable,
So gullible,
So broken into two.

This broken body representing the version of me.
And then the version of you
Being torn apart so vigorously.

Replay,
Rewind,
Repeat.

Understand why you were brought to your feet.
Connect to that pain.
Realise you do not want to go back.

Again.

WELCOME MIZMEE ~ Love your poems they are areas we can all empathise with ~ Thanks for sharing. I'm 33 (single) so my mind is haunted by many memories some recent and some distant of "Loves Labour Lost !" Many of them I can and have let go ~ but some are very persistent and haunt my subconscious ! I will try your MANTRA ~ Replay ~ Rewind ~ Repeat ~ Realise and then REJECT (DELETE) ~ THANKS ~ Yours BRIAN (UK)
