SATAN CAN'T HOLD ME

Tony36

Satan you can’t hold me

Sure, your thugs can beat me and drag me through the mud

You can’t hold me

They can call me every name they can ever think of

You can’t hold me

For I am a child of GOD

I listen to him and him alone

My spirit belongs to GOD

He is the one I must obey

You can not break my will

You can not crush my spirit

It is there for useless to try

For I am GOD’s and GOD’s only

Yes, my spirit belongs to GOD

Therefor I am free

By his power

By his might

So Remember

You can’t chain me with the strongest chain

You can’t bind me with any rope

YOU CAN’T HOLD ME

Why is he Old Nick too? We'll have to apologise to everyone named Nick!
A fine write T. It's said that he himself is on a chain - a very long chain though.

      Thank you. Who is Nick?

I did think of 'chain' before I read Candlewitch's comment. Some 'organised religions' can be like chains too, I agree. Some get into a state of 'religiosity' too - rites and rituals, not even knowing what it all means, as they've been doing it so long without thinking.

Thank you, I do agree that there are those religions and faiths out there. That do bind people in spiritural chains.

Good Faith ridden write, God is always there for us all.

          Thank You

'Old Nick', a quaint name for the devil - in UK anyway, maybe not in USA.
Also, with being 'unchained' it's a bit like the paradoxes we hear:
          'In serving is our freedom'.
Hymn: 'Make me a captive Lord, And then I shall be free'

            Thank You
