gehenna burning

Heather T

this halo glimmers asphyxiate charms

to a slave of slipknot eros, noosed

I wear his shackled freedom

and burn like ripe vagaries

plucked on gehenna afternoons

when he plies confession

parted, lipped, and loosed

open conjuration panting

a slippery slope, this rope

he proffers me a taste

licking sorceries for words

etched vertical across my back

staining merlot chaste

so I will hold my demons closer

and the slithered serpents tease my seams

pose to finger permissions

as I scatter on exodus wings

every good intention

fire-dancing

I writhe

behind a veil of sighs

molten

my god

for brimstone in his eyes

Very well written. Dark, deep, lyrical.
