Let Love Lead the Way
Do you question events in your life
Like where you’re meant to be
Do you ever lay awake at night
Hearing whispers in your heart from me
When you moved away from New England
There’s some real estate you left behind
Your name on the deed
The deed to the lonely heart of mine
Why do I let you rule my heart?
Maybe because its my life to live
Even if you don’t love me
Still my love to you I give
For less worthy a heart
I’ve loved and lost before
With you it doesn’t matter if I gain or loose
Only that you own the key to my heart’s door
To please you I’d assign your name
To beautiful radiant flowers
I’d paint the moon pink
Shout “I Love You Sharon”
From the top of Lawson Tower
I may end up the fool
But that’s OK
Sometimes you need to listen to your heart
And let love lead the way

Love is never wrong .... heartfelt I sympathize
Thank you wischuett, she's been gone since 1971 and I always knew I'd never see her again. But the impression she left on me was strong enough for me to keep her in my heart always. Thanks for your comment.
Wow, lift the scar will always create fresh wounds. Only love could fill the big hole and seal the pain. Very touching poem.
Thanks for your compliment, this poem is about the endurance of love. In September it will be 50 years.
A fine write AP.
Thank you much
Indeed... I loved it. Beautiful my friend.
Thank you.
Wicked good! Love the questions you ask 🙂
Yeah, now if I could only know her answers. Thanks for your comment.
Do lost loves ever leave our heart? I think not, and that is the way it should be ... lost, but not forgotten, don't you agree? fine poem, A.P.
Well, I definitely lost her and I'll never forget her, so yes I have to agree.
Good loving write, that love will always be there.
50 years next month.
Well done, ours is only 36 years in November, not bad though for a second marriage for both of us.
Love it
Thank you Florina
