Smell

Dulcinea91

The smell so near
Yet so distant in the atmosphere
Breathing slowly as the scents consume me
Lavender l sensed I feel a bit content

I close my eyes and begin to dream
Wishing everything would become real
The feeling I have I wish I could keep

Open my arms for a warm embrace
I have nothing to fear
No temptation or danger will Interfere.

But then I open my eyes
And just a faint glare
My fairytale has just ended there

Thanks DULCINE ~ for a beautiful picture (elegant !) and beautiful sentiments in an equally elegant poem ! Love is guided (and guarded !) by our senses especially the sense of smell. Sight just provides generalities ~ Gender ~ Age ~ Attractiveness ~ Style etc (I'm already half in Love with just her picture ~ like on an Asian cyber dating site ?) ~ BUT ~ If I was close enough to actually scent and taste her (the two senses are linked) only then would I know the Chemistry was right. However it "Takes two to Tango" and only if her response to my scent and savour ~ would it be the beginning of a Match ! Thank GOD it does happen ~ and more often than we expect ! Thanks for sharing ~ Yours BRIAN ~ Please check my Poems ~ Thanks B.
