Beyond the Loss

jonnyc1

Locked inside a self built cage,
trying to push away the rage.
I feel the space left behind,
always looking back, no one to find.
No words exist to hide the pain,
no sounds, no music through the rain.
Nightmares live throughout the day,
darkness seeps where I lay.
Empty soul filled with regret,
flooded with tears through the sweat.
Finding the strength to feel the light,
my memories and angel still in sight.
Take no serum for the hurt,
feel the heart beat through the shirt.
Brush the soot from the path,
wipe the view, clear the wrath.
Start again, begin to breathe,
say goodbye and learn to leave.

Brush the soot from the path,
wipe the view, clear the wrath.
    Start again, begin to breathe,
say goodbye and learn to leave.

Sounds very brave. New start, it is.

Good write with a positive end. Move on and breathe once more.

There's no easy way to get past the loss of loved ones. Good days and bad days. But in time you'll feel their presence still with you. Very nice write.
