He said 'There is no love.'

Aa Harvey

He said ‘There is no love’

I only get to see beautiful women as they walk on by.

I do not get to fall in love;

Nobody will ever be on my side.

Mine to adore, to love and much more,

My girlfriend, my lover, my never a chore;

My only ever, pleasure forever after.

I wait for a sign or reason to carry on,

But there is no hope…no love…no one.

My heart is empty of someone to love,

So I will give it up, it takes too much.

My heart and soul I would give to be loved,

But I cannot even see a way that is up.

That is what’s up.  Forever down, by my own depression,

I never learn any lessons.

I just fail, leave them guessing,

Never actually show a piece of me; there is nothing to see.

The music video ‘Just’ is in my head today,

Because if they all had my empathy, they would all stop

And lay down next to me.

I am unmoving, going nowhere fast; no sympathy, please.

No kiss or hug is heading my way,

Because I am an island covered in rain.

Who would want to go on a holiday there?

(Even temporarily)

…I do not care…

Excuse me, Hi. The names Nick, but you can call me Nicholas if you really feel like it. An island covered with rain, huh? Must suck. Don't get me wrong, I'm empathizing with you. I don't like sympathy either. Just wanted to tell you that I enjoyed this, forgive if it seems rude to enjoy poetry about self-loathing, but I get where it's coming from. I feel like this myself sometimes. I watch the world go by, doing absolutely nothing, only to be reminded that the one thing I want is the one thing I'll never have. I wanted to be loved, to love. To care for, and to be cared for. Tried it out, and this is where it led me. Good to know we're companions in this. Love the poetry, keep on writing friend.

Thank you Nick Nicholas. Someday you will find love...

      "You analyze my fears,
      Analyze my dreams.

      Things aren't what they seem.

Tell a hundred craftsmen to work on me.
Tell this army of angels to make me breathe.
Open doors, just to take away the key,
I'll let you all see, that I'm doing better...

      Watch me fall..."

    • myself and me

The big problem of depression is the loss of sense for love. I was horrified by this feeling.
Even the island is flooded by the rain, one day, the Sun will shine on it and it will become oasis.

"I feel a little down today
And I ain't got much to say,
But your gonna miss me when I'm not there,
        You know I don't care...you know I don't care...

        ...'cause baby after all,
        You'll never forget my name."
