To Emily Dickinson

Guillermo Gitz

Tell them

Tell the people you are not alone

That you do not even get bored

Although you have not moved away too far

Because this is the life you love the most

To love the nature that surrounds you.

You have got a heart that is joyful

God has given you a fine house to dwell in

Humour and wit are also gifts from Heaven

But love it is not absent from you

Firstly, it is in everything you do, Emily

And secondly, it remains all around you

Even in the morning sun the warms you up.

The Caribbean Sea is at hand

Have not you imagine being there yet?

Or the Aegean Sea, perhaps

One is indigo and turquoise the other

They are anxious to be visualized by you

Do not let them down, Emily.
