Fight or Flight

Yosamite

Thank you.

Thank you for awakening the beast inside me.

Without your incessant groping, I might not have known my potential.
Please understand, I will not repeat myself when I have told you no.
No does not mean yes, it does not give you permission to touch my body.
You touch my chest, I imagine my hands around your neck.
You enter my space with my ever growing "no", I imagine the beer bottle in my hands shattering and entering your neck.
With every step closer you take, my breath grows more shallow and my teeth bare back.

I'm ready.
Fight or flight.

Welcome Yosamite! Poetry to me is an expression of one's feelings in words. It provides an outlet to the passions & fears in us all. It enables reflection on the good & bad in life. Without poetry, the world would be a barren & very hard place. Your poem is great & well written. I hope that it brings you to fight, rather than flight.

Your courageous spirit comes through in this very good, well-written poem, Yosemite. Well done, and welcome to MPS!

WELCOME YOSAMITE ~ Thanks for your first poem ~ It is poetry because it is from your assaulted heart ! Some Men show no decency or self~control and it make m ashamed to be a Man. My Mum taught me to always respect Ladies (of all ages) and that when a Lady says NO she means NO Sometimes FLIGHT is best ~ but if you are cornered FIGHT ! Thinking of you ~ Yours BRIAN (UK)
