Life becomes black when you take a grudge
And hold it close, locked inside to fester,
Pushing away those that want to make it better
The words of forgiveness stuck in your throat
The steel in your eyes, the set of your jaw
The physical signs of the grudge you hold.
Your mood becomes blue when you take a grudge
And make it part of the mask you tote
The grudge you hold isolates your body
Leaving you alone with only the grudge for hope
The tears of pity falling down your face
As the rage of your grudge pours out.

An excellent write sue. A fault we all must avoid. Thanks for sharing this wonderful piece.
Thank you- yes life is far too short to hold onto things that make you unhappy 😔
Nice. The title was interesting.
Thank you 😊
Well we do tend to beat ourselves up over these things - hence black and blue!!
Yes, yes we do, haha. I just had to take a poem down because I didn't think it was good enough to be here. Shame, but blue is my favorite color!
Never doubt yourself Nicholas!
Good write. Grudges should be over almost as soon as they start as they cannot be any use at all.
I agree!
