My camouflage
Translucent and liquefied
Making my tears invisible
So no one knows I’ve cried
Let the skies open up
Let the rain drops fall
Please excuse me
If I don’t answer your call
Give me time
To compose myself
Recharge my batteries and faith
While up here on this shelf
To some of us this happens
Every once in a while
The bravest may try
And some don’t even care to smile
I’m sorry for this poor excuse
As I try to explain
I just need some down time
Hiding in the rain

- Comment from author about the poem: Wrote this some years back while in a bad place. When I\\\'m feeling this way, it usually doesn\\\'t last for long and I bouce back quite well. I think writing about the emotional stress lets it out kind of like a tea kettle blowing off steam. Thanks for reading.

Very good write, we all need to hide sometimes.
I have to wonder if that's what some people mean by "darkness". Thanks for your compliment Goldfinch.
A fine write AP. Ya got an umbrella there?! heehee.
The umbrella gave out many storms ago. Thanks for reading orchidee.
A well described process we all go through, AP! Some of our best work emerges from it, doesn't it.
Thanks Louis. Yes I believe most of our best work comes from very deep personal feelings. Somehow our lyrical muse inside is very tuned in to our deepest emotions and helps us to concentrate more focused on the subject.
Precisely stated! Thanks.
The way you describe the recess we all need sometimes to recompose is so perfect. Beautiful array of words.
Thanks malu, it's just one of those things that flows easier when your in that place. Thanks for reading.
"Hiding in the rain",
A scene just jump into my mind
A lady holding an umbrella standing next to you, silently...
Then, using your imagination.
Now I know what to do if next time I want to cry. Watch weather forecast first.
Brilliant.
Thank you m&m.
How very elemental, this soul bath. Paints a raw and beautiful scene. Both camouflage and cleansing.
Thanks Heather.
