  • Comment from author about the poem: I was caught off guard by the passing of legendary comic Jerry Lewis yesterday. And although I\\\'ve tried to write a respectful poem for him, I can\\\'t seem to put together what I want to. Jerry Lewis was huge in my childhood as I watched many of his movies. He also has raised over 2 billion dollars in charity for the Muscular Dystrophy Association through his Labor Day weekend telethon which ironically is this coming weekend. Jerry, you are loved and missed by millions.

Yes i loved his idiot acting alongside Dean Martin in the movies as a kid. It's the sign of us all gettng older isn't it. The world we knew, it's heroes and clowns are leaving us and the world is changing. We gracefully accept change with the wisdom our years have provided. Thank you Accidental Poet and thank you Jerry Lewis wonderful clown.
