THE SOLAR ECLIPSE OF 2017

THE SOLAR ECLIPSE OF 2017

Never thought I would see

Day and night in the same day…

To admire the moon parade in front of the sun

For a few summer minutes stay.

A solar sign from heaven – our maker letting us know

The true significance of His creation

The moon and sun and in the unknown.

With the sun so large and powerful…

Many will ask what is this?

There a time when all is aliened

And it reveals this mystery called “the solar eclipse.”

Who thought the sun could ever be blocked?

The passage of light momentarily interrupted.

Day light is put on a pause

As nature takes a break for the cause

It’s night time in the day time

And the moon is leading it all.

Not since 1918

Almost a century… 100 years ago

Did mankind look up and witness…

The dimming of the sun and all its hidden glow

Who will ever see this again,

Nobody really knows… surely not me!

An act of nature that just had to be seen

Seen in person… the Solar Eclipse of 2017!

A fine write. Never saw a thing in my part of the UK - thick cloud. If you hadn't have told me, and I hadn't have read of it, I would never have known! lol.
Saw a good eclipse of the sun in the UK in 1999.

A marvel of creation it is! Thanks for the fine tribute, MP!

WELCOME FRANK ~ Thanks for your first POEM in praise of the 2017 American Total Eclipse. In the UK we are so jealous but we have had awesome pictures all day on TV. I think GOD wanted us to be able (before the days of Telescopes and Astronomy) to be able to glimpse at Aura of the Sun as she shyly hid behind the MOON The Bible says God made the Moon and because it is 400 times smaller than the SUN but 400 times nearer the Earth it can blot out the SUN ~ simple ! Primitive Man ~ during an eclipse ~ would be able to see the Aura and Atmosphere of the Sun etc behind the MOON. We know so much more now but are still overawed by a Solar Eclipse ! Thanks for sharing ~ BRIAN. Please check my poems ~ thanks B.

Excellent write. I'm on the east coast of Massachusetts and it looked like a normal day.
