LOOKING BACK

lasergraph

I can remember years ago,

When I was very young;

I knew as I wrote out a rhyme,

The journey had begun.

I used a pen to write them down,

A notebook saved each one.

Spell check was in the book upon my desk,

I used when I was done.

Heartbreak was the topic used the most,

Whenever I had my say.

Soon forgotten and replaced,

Not long to fade away.

The notebook was my hard drive,

As I would save each page.

And the topics seemed to change a lot,

When I began to age.

A keyboard replaced my trusty pen,

Iced tea replaced Coke and Jack.

Reflection replaced my heartbreak rhymes,

As I kept looking back.

I love your writing exactly because it comes from your heart. I like the way you write also but I too look for emotion when I read.

Perhaps the cold steel world of digital output has pushed more of us to seek warmth in other things.

I hope so. It at least serve us the porpoise of know more about the world we live and about people that live far from us. It has its comfort with the easy way we can access information now. But it is wise to remember that we need both. The new world and the good things about the old. Sentiment can not be outdated.

Class! Just seems to ooze wisdom. I know i look back often, but i still write of love, romance, heartbreak and reflection. One day i'll learn to write about an old hinge or something respectable. I enjoyed reading this very much.
