Self why do you battle with me
Self why do you doubt yourself
Self I see so much potential in you but you don't see it
Self you see what you think is unbelievable
But self I see so much growth each day
Self will you ever accept you
Self will you ever feel the life in you
Self will you ever realize your smile brightens up someone day
Self will you ever realize your eyes and thoughts are beyond of what you can't see
Self I need you to do some reflection
That peacock, that ladybug, that butterfly is "You"

Thanks LAKIEA ~ Love the Structure of your poem ~ elegant flowing "free verse" Love the Subject too ~ our Alter Ego ~ our inner (sometimes hidden) SELF. As we leave the teenage years behind and progress into our 29's & 30's Men are filled with doubt and sometimes despair ~ BUT ~ we try not to show it and do our best in LIFE & LOVE ! My Alter Ego knows much better what I am capable of and sometimes when i talk to myself in a full~length Mirror my AE says go on BRIAN you can do it ~ just be Yourself !
