I remember times when I was young,
I looked around to see,
All the people standing by,
That looked so old to me.
Age is just a perception of,
Your own point of view.
Others may not see the same,
In people that you do.
Time has passed and things have changed,
And when I look around to see,
All the people who now look old,
Just look a lot like me.

- Comment from author about the poem: I remember as a child looking at those in their thirties and thinking how old they looked to me. It is amazing how your perspective changes.

So very true lg, I now go to more funerals than I do to weddings.
I know that feeling.
Will there be sherry at funerals AND weddings? heehee. A fine write L/G.
Very interesting writing. I feel the same way. We only realize that we got old when looking at our friends or looking at the mirror. It is funny that the other day I was at the groceries store and I've noticed some older guys trying to flirt with me and I thought to myself: well I'm at that age when the old guys think: oh! This is a cute older lady. Maybe she is available. I laughed at the thought. Where all the strong big muscles guys went?
I hate the shop window reflection but my eyes look out young. Nice writing.

Very well said. When I was at high school, one teacher said, thirty years pass by just like a snap. I did not believe and didn't understand either. Now I would say the same to the young fellas.
Nice poem.
Funny how time changes our views.
Indeed.
I remember those same thoughts and feel the same as you now. Lovely poem and so true.
