They don't cash cheques in heaven
they don't do two for one,
and you can't join the queue for a bargain,
that's not how things are done.
You might be rich in this here life
and have enough money for your trophy wife
drive a big car and have diamonds galore
but you'll be as poor as me,
at that final door.
There's no bargain basement in heaven
you'll get all you want on one floor
and there's no sneaking in through the back,
they've only got the one door.
You'll not get past this doorman
with bribery or deceit
he's not interested in money,
or any kind of receipt.
They don't cash cheques in heaven
they've got no pennies in their till,
they don't do special offers,
just a straight forward decent deal.

We arrive with nothing...we leave with nothing. Love your poem, docstorm.
Well written and well rhymed.
And in between, most of us still have nothing! lol Thanks for taking the time to read, glad you enjoyed it.
And inbetween.........we work like crazy, to buy things we don't need, with money we don't have! 🙂

Thank you for letting me know. I will make sure to take cash with me. Is there any label on the door, so that I won''t go through the wrong one.
Thank you for the tips and such a straight forward poem.
If any of us get that far, there certainly won't be a wrong door. Thanks for taking the time to read.
