arrow

dusk arising

Rising as a pale translucent whisp
she leaves her broken body
held lovingly in her darling husbands arms
the arrow protrudes from her neck
the pain was terrible beyond belief
but is no more, the light is calling to her
she feels herself drawn to the wonderful light
but she must stay a while
i am alright my darling there is no pain now
do not fear for me we shall be together again
he cannot hear, he strokes her bodies face
she must console him though cannot touch, embrace
she is being called,   not yet,   she must linger
days later with her body laid to rest
she leaves the little company surrounding her grave
upon the current thru the waves of light
the peaceful light of pure love draws
toward the place of the eternal light
her spiritual home again surrounds her
here is comfort, peace and familiarity
many times her soul has been here
she is home again
slowly the superconscious theta waves subside
through alpha into beta waves now
consciousness has returned
Harry sits in the psychiatrists chair
he had sought psychiatric help
after a lifetime of failed throat treatments
regression revealed a prior life as a young lady
killed by native americans in a skirmish.
Inexplicably he had also revealed
his soul's passage after death
into the spirits world
from where he was renewed and reborn.
such revelations are not rare

Thank you sir, you're very kind.

dusk arising, beautifully penned. I agree with the readers before me. Your poem is so well written, it drew me in, I could not stop reading, and then the unexpected ending.
Since I do believe in multiple lives, this poem is for me!
      Mahalo!

I am a believer in reincarnation and this afterlife. Although knowledge of it is supposedly wiped from our living consciousness there seems to be a natural expectation that there is something more quite apart from the christian heaven/hell construct. Nice to meet a person with similar belief. If you'd like to talk more on the subject please message me.

Very nice reading. Unusual subject. I believe in reincarnation and appreciated your poem from the beginning to the end. Awesome writing dusk

I too believe in reincarnation and a life after death. I know that if you believe in reincarnation then our spiritual beliefs will be similar. I was not sure how receptive people would be to this idea which contradicts the teaching most people writing here have received but it seems to be quite accepted. Than you for your kind comments.

Death could be so peacefully beautiful under your pen.

            • dusk arising

It is my belief that the time following death will be exactly that - peacefully beautiful. Many people believe similar. If it is of interest to you, then a little bit of research into written works about reincarnation may begin to tempt you further. Thank you for your unusual but positive comment.

              interesting

              • dusk arising

I hadn't looked at this since writing. My immediate thoughts are that it could do with a re-write. It cries out for punctuation.... Upon reflection I have been quite lazy with punctuation in my work, maybe this will serve as an alarm call.
Are you working through my back catalogue?

                • Neville

I dont see the point in just reading someone's last post

                • Suresh

I apologize if I am repeating myself.
My journey is made up of three questions:
                  Why do I exist?
                  What is my purpose?
How do I account for my deeds?

The answer I have concluded for the last question is - reincarnation

These words of your portray a fine image of reincarnation.

                  Very enjoyable

HI Suresh. Again i'm inclined to think this needs a re-write. In searching through various writings around the subject of reincarnation I feel you will find answers to your questions depending upon your frame of mind. I have never seen things clearly spelled out i.e. you purpose is blah blah blah... but a different appreciation of your life and those questions can be achieved.
The veil surrounding answers those questions is not meant to be penetrable from this side of our passing. Otherwise they'd have been answered. I know i have my answers to those questions, answers which satisfy my belief in a hereafter which has little to do with the heaven i was taught about as a christian child.

I find i have to take it slowly reading about reincarnation and do a lot of thinking about what i am reading along the way.
