Lost

poetboy5454

A shamble of broken pieces, all alone

Doubts taking center stage, worn down to the bone

Candle flames slowly suffocated to embers

Fading away, soon there’ll be nothing left to remember

Trapped within this seemingly eternal night

Witnessing a seemingly endless path

Shadows engulf every single light

Drowning in a moonlit bath

Lost and shattered, put to the side

Nightmares in my sleep, nowhere to hide

Frantically beginning to call out, making no sound

Reaching out desperately only to find no one’s around

Doubts and phantoms all begin to collide

No place to run, they come from the inside

Held down, no point in screaming for help

Everything begins to vanish, one final yelp

Suddenly a hand tears away the veil

Grabbing the sinking body, time to sail

Past the gray clouds and the storm

A gentle flame now begins to form
