Tune: Lyngham
('O for a thousand tongues to sing')
*******
O magnify the Lord, come praise His name
He ever stays the same (x2)
Faithful and loving, worthy of praise
Psalms, songs, and anthems raise (x3)
Let all that has breath it employ
In strains of holy joy (x2)
To worship Him the Lord o'er all
Near those who on Him call (x3)
With hearts, minds, lives from sins redeemed
Though helpless may have seemed (x2)
Yet Christ did to our rescue came
Worthy of endless fame (x3)
The gospel message e'er resounds
That mercy, grace abounds (x2)
And in His love redemption avails
His salvation prevails (x3)
What can we do more in word and deed
That others too may heed (x2)
The truths of eternal life free
Open to you and me (x3)
He His Spirit gives, He indwells
That each, empowered, tells (x2)
Of His mission, Christ came to save
For us His life He gave (x3)
Once died, but now from dead arose
Each believing heart knows (x2)
He the life and resurrection
For us great things has done (x3)
'Til rapture's call, last trumpet sound
Pray that lost souls be found (x2)
And come to share e'erlasting bliss
God's wondrous plan is this (x3)
