As I sit here crying and sad
Wishing I could still be your dad
I'm hoping there's a chance
I could see you at least a glance.
I just want to here your cry
And see the color of your eyes
Wishing to hold you close
And kiss your little baby nose.
As I sit here and shed these tears
I face parent's fears
The fear of not seeing your face
Or pretend we're flying in outer space.
The fear of not seeing you grow
The fear of not counting your toes.
Can't see your first day of school
Or see you mad because your friends think I'm cool.
Can't teach you to throw a ball
Or pick you up when you fall.
I won't get to hold you little baby
Or see whether you're a man or a lady.
This is just alot of pain
All my tears will leave a stain
They'll stain my heart and the ground.
They'll affect everyone all around.
These words come from a big broken heart.
Because that's where the pain seems to start.
