True Love

poetboy123

 Love, deeper than the ocean

More than just passionate emotion

A loose chain given to us all

Linking us through our walls

 Love, stronger than a feeling

A tune to which our hearts sing

When all that’s left are broken pieces

They realign, for love never ceases

Love, shines within every single star

Reaching past the darkness, going far

Touching those we have never known

Allowing for broken hearts to be sown

Love, given a rival chosen by fate

Flowing past lies, diluting hate

A pair of glasses on a dark, foggy day

Preventing poison from our mouths to spray

Love, truly only as strong as you will

Leave anytime you’ve had your fill

Always there to return to and drink

Even when you’re drowning, about to sink

I've just joined a couple of days ago, but I've read a few poems. So far, this is my favorite.

A nice writing about true love.

Wonderful reflections on true love. And for me --- just as you state ---- if it is fleeting, it cannot be true love. The last stanza says it all. Excellent rhyming too.
