Mornings

poetboy5454

Dreams fade away in my mind

Eyes open, the sun’s rays upon them unkind

Beckoned awake by this new day

Driven to rise from where I lay

Dragging myself out of bed

Churning thoughts inside my head

Splashing water on my face

Weariness flows away with no trace

Stumble back into my room

Ideas popping out with a boom

Mind sharpens, achieving clarity

Blurriness clears, ready to see

Then, checking mypoeticside

Where my heart goes to hide

Hands on keyboard, ready to write

Reaching for words in my sight

Very good poem! Love the rhythm and the rhyme scheme. A very relatable poem, I enjoyed it!

You described the way I feel most days. I could identify with every word. Great write.

May those words always arise with you as they did in this write.

        Thank you, Gold!
