SHE WHO IS ALONE

RockstarA

Do you know how it feels to be truly alone?

The feeling that no one is there, although everyone is home?

Time you'd like to share, but no one wants to go?

That feeling when you reach out but no one answers the phone

The feeling of neglect;

Being worthless and unwanted-

And along comes the ripple effect

The type of feeling that makes one bitter-

Any good spirit shot down

An old flower, ugly and withered

And you can't remember how to smile

Then, you try hard to be noticed

Thinking, these hurtful feelings can't be true

Only later to realize you'll never be the main focus

THEY NEVER LOVED YOU

  • Comment from author about the poem: This poem is a very personal poem directly telling what it really means to be alone. Some people take the word alone too literally so I decided to share my perspective using my story and how alone I felt in my own home.
