What I do on Friday

secondchancesyndrome

Notice of absence from secondchancesyndrome
Okay, when I shuffle off this earthly folly you'll not be hearing from me unless you attend a spiritualist church.

I'm collecting always collecting and usually sea shells,

pretty ones, brightly coloured by the ocean and its actions,
sea shells are my fairground attractions
so far
and that's not really far
I've collected six hundred and twenty one of them,

all different, some broken, all loved.

If sea shells become the new black and the new black becomes the new gold

and I'm not too old I'll be rich, but that's not why I'm collecting,
there's something about sea shells and the fact something once lived in them,
a bit like something once lived inside old men,

I wonder if it's empathy I feel when I'm down there on the beach, by the sea,
maybe it might be one of those DNA memories of my ancestors, but it's a mystery,
I'm collecting anyway.
