In My Heart of Hearts, The King of Kings.

Kadijah Siddique

As I sit on the bus. The music plays.

Songs of women, alcohol, and that special feeling.

In the videos relating to music.

Women in bikinis, and blue jean shorts.

All the way up, Don’t forget the makeup.

Be a Barbie… Talk without a sense of reality

“No more talking, give me a kiss, I'm feeling it”

Why does this society.

Have no variety.

WHERE IS YOUR HUMANITY!!!

A society..

Without judgement....

That can never work

Judgement!!!! IS THAT ALL THAT MATTERS?

Black chiffon, over my head, covers my face.

Oppression lurks. Not with me. But within my society.

I hide my beauty. When society!

Teaches women are a minority!

They say I believe in femininity.

By revealing their beauty.

To men? …. For the world to see.

JUDGE ME!

NOT BY MY STATUS!

OR MY SKINS COMPLEXION

I AM MUSLIM!! BELIEVE IT OR NOT

BUT WHO CARES

You judge me anyways.

Is this a waste of my breath?

You judge me by my conversion of faith.

You judge me by my eyes.

The veil on my face.

You judge me how the media portrays.

I'm a terrorist, a school shooter, an extremist a bomber.

When really you're the one is astray they feed you lies.

Your twisted version of my Imaan?

But you don’t judge me by the heart I hold in my hands

I hold my heart in my hands

I beg I plead.

See me.

For who I am

I am more than an object to a man.

I don’t believe in Peter Pan.

Or the prince, that somehow saves the princess

In every fairytale because she's beautiful?

I try to be righteous try to be pious

My beauty is for my love,

Not a boy a man.

Who will hold my hand!

In Jannah Insh' Allah.

When I meet my maker.

My Sustainer .

My Protector.

Who sees what’s in my heart of hearts.

I live to please Allah. And only Allah.

My niqab is where I start.

To please the King of Kings.

It is such a shame that in this day and age the very few can create an intolerance of others. Good write may your Faith stay strong and be always with you.
