Restless

skyebellasario

Most nights I lie awake,

Pondering where else in the world I could be.

Wishing I was a snowy dove,

Able to fly where the sun never sets.

In my dreams, I can climb the highest mountains

And dive into the deepest seas.

My brain has never understood

How to be content in the same place.

I am restless.

I was born for bigger things than this town.

As much as I love my small corner of this huge world.

I have an urge to leave.

My feet never stop itching,

To take flight and leave the bleakness behind.

One day I will take off,

And perhaps never return.

HI SKYEBELLE ~ Thanks for being my MPS FRIEND and thanks for your second POEM ~ Again well written with a challenging theme. While we are still Young (under 20 ?) we are still studying (as you are) going to UNI is a chance to escape but currently (because of increasing cost) many UK students choose to study at their Local Uni and live at Home~ a great opportunity for 18 year olds to spread their wings is lost. When you are qualified and Job Seeking ~ theoretically you can go anywhere in the World but alas what is POSSIBLE is not always PRACTICAL ! Love your Poem because it echoes the aspirations of many of the TEENS & TWENTIES in the College where I work. Every BLESSING in your desire to FLY AWAY ................. Yours BRIAN (UK) Please check my Poems ~ Thanks B.
