Battle For The Crown

poetboy5454

Within, a volcano prepares to erupt

All of my failures, no I’ve had enough!

Indomitable spirit setting loose a blaze

Everything except for victory becomes a haze

Too many burnt matches held in my palm

All rage stored away, now focused and calm

Because although they may tower above me

I will jump beyond the great blue sky, set free

Bitterness burning on my tongue, even now

Clinging to stubborn pride, to failure I’ll never bow

Storm rising from the east fueled by my fury

I will rise back to the top, everyone will see

My spirit will soar above the rest

My heart is telling me to be the best

My soul has become a roaring lion

Always set to one day reach the sun

Shadows have pulled me down

From this darkness I’ll reclaim my crown

Shaking and relentless, these feelings inside

Out into the light, never again to hide

Though they all may be stronger and smarter than I

With a sole, burning determination, above them I will fly

From now on, nothing but victory shall remain in my sight

Chaotic tornado set loose to ravage, none compare to its might
