Tune: Richmond
(one tune to 'O for a closer walk with God')
Ecclesiastes 3 v.1-11
********
1. To everything a season be
Time to each purpose, see
All that under heaven is done
Pointless and useless none
2. A time to be born, time to die
Life passing by and by
A time to plant, time to up pluck
'Tis not mere fate or luck
3. A time to kill, a time to heal
Such states continue still
A time to break down, and up build
To these laws all life yields
4. A time to laugh, a time to weep
Matters shallow or deep
A time to dance, a time to mourn
To every human born
5. A time for stones be cast away
Gather another day
A time to embrace, or refrain
From embrace, it is plain
6. A time to get, a time to lose
'Tis all how God does choose
A time to keep, time cast away
All under God's wise ways
7. A time to rend, a time to sew
Here throughout life we know
A time for silence, time for speech
How best each one to reach
8. A time to love, a time to hate
Life in its varied states
A time of war, a time of peace
Our time here God does lease
9. All made beautiful in God's time
All part of life's fine rhyme
The world He has set in our hearts
We cannot tell all parts
10. Cannot tell all of what He does
Nor all His works with us
Only He knows from the beginning
To the end, everything

There are some controversial things for which there seems to be 'time' - war, hate, etc. Some of it may be due to Old Testament thinking. Maybe we can't fully humanly understand it (as verse 10).
There is time for everything that is important in our world. Good write Orchi.
Thanks G/F. If only there was no time for whisky-watering!
....and then there is a time to read your poems!
I should like to find the time to read the poems - oh, you did find time Fred! Thanks.
A time for everything, the clock ticks for us all not knowing when the last click will be.
Thanks L.
A time to live and a time to go.
Wonderful writing.
Thanks M.
