Communing Contemplations 2

Tune: Hursley

('Sun of my soul, thou Saviour dear')

********

Psalm 131 v.1

Lord, my heart it not haughty is

But I content myself in this

That my eyes they not lofty be

Nor too great matters do I see

Psalm 131 v.2

I have behaved, quieted myself

This shall be to my soul's good health

As a child weaned of mother, my soul

Is, in simplicity made whole

Psalm 130 v.1

Out of the depths to you I cried

To you, Lord, draw near to my side

Lord hear my voice, my prayer to you

Come to me, hear me, me renew

Psalm 132 v.13

The Lord Zion has chosen sure

His residence for evermore

'Tis holy mount, His habitation

Welcoming all of each nation

Psalm 132 v.16

Priests clothed there with His salvation

Saints shout for joy there, every one

Gone gloom and darkness, none affright

Day break dawns there with His true light

Psalm 134 v.1

Behold, bless the Lord, you servants

of His, who do take up night stance

In His house, to praise Him, His name

And proclaim his eternal fame

Psalm 134 v.2-3

Lift up your hands in sanctuary

In His Temple, holy it be

Bless His name you on night duty

And He bless you, your watchings see
