KING TUT

David Grubb

Did the boy king Tut

Ever build model boats in his hut

One two or three masted

Was the hull sandblasted

Did Queen Nefertiti sail the Nile

In search of that nail file

You know the one with the fancy handle

Bet it was hidden in her sandal

King Khafre wanted an ice cream cone

Not a big pyramid built in stone

King Ahken

Him that liked the aten

He wanted to slide down the sand dune

Not build a big toon

  • Comment from author about the poem: Just a bit fun after reading a model boat had been found in one of the tombs in the valley of the kings. The last word toon is scots slang for town just to clear any head scratching
