Autumn

Brave

Orange leaves fell from ruby red trees.
Fell through crisp Autumn air like golden glitter.
Reminding me of glue-sticks, knapsacks, pencils, and blank loose-leaf paper.
When I was younger,
I used to race against Time.
I ran fast, thought I'd quickly reach the end, and peek around a future bend.
Looking back over my shoulder, peeking around a future boulder,
I'd see Time taking its time, and definitely falling far behind.
But as I grew older, I ran a little slower.
And Time somehow flew ahead so fast
Leaving me gliding, softly sliding
upon the rivers of the past.
Freely falling
through crisp Autumn air
filled with
golden glitter.

This is the way I wish I could write...
(funny thing, I was considering posting another...but it's titled "Autumn". It isn't really up to par with yours...it is different)
