Snout
Dedicayed to Charly (Charlotte) Evans
I wet my lips with the tip of my tongue
Pout them out subtly
I wrap my middle and index around the barrel
Light it up
Scratch my thumb every strike
A flame
It burns and smoke comes
Alas
Like a house on fire it’s lit
It’s ready
Inhale deeply like you’ve been drowning
Hold it
Hold it
Hold
It
Breathe in again slightly
Hold it
Exhale
Like a winter eve smoke appears
Light headed
Im no addict
Thats what an addict would say
I can’t quit
There’s nothing to quit
A pick me up
When im down
But no addiction burns here
Merely a snout

WELCOME P & F ~ Thanks for your first poem ~ it was all Greek to some ! Fortunately I went to a Proper Grammar School were we were taught GREEK ! I like the STRUCTURE of the Poem and the SUBJECT. I work with Young People and they all say "I'm not an Addict" and "There's nothing to quit ~ SNOUT is just a pick me up when I'm down ! Take care BRIAN (UK) Please check my Poems ~ thanks B.
