ME

dev26

And if today you ask me what I have learned from this life,

I will tell you that I have learned to love myself,

I am unique

I am honest

I am intelligent

I am funny

I am brave

I am caring

I am a sensitive sole with a heart like a sponge that soaks up the feelings that I shouldn't carry,

Guilt, I am not guilty

Pain, I am not in pain

Saddness,I am not sad

I am beautiful

Even down to my tiger striped body that I went to battle with,

I came out winning

Winning at being

Me

  • Comment from author about the poem: This is the first poem I've written after being in an unhealthy relationship and having to deal with things that no 22 year old should have to ever face, I lost who I was and all traces of any creativity which saddened me until last week after a therapy session I had to rush home and write this down. Feeling like it wasn't Good enough and letting all that self doubt creep in. I read it through with the tears rolling down my cheeks, for the very first time I believed those words.
