Kiss My WHAT? Good-bye

Seems a very long time ago

A Mayan tribe knew our fate

All based upon a calendar

The world will end on today’s date

 

A non-college grad

Devised a Mayan calendar

Counting on all the tribes fingers

For us today they render

 

Did they mean to cause us panic?

Unrest among the masses

Or roast us, the idiotic fools

Stupid gullible asses

 

All viable explanations

I think not

Might we read between the lines

Re-examine the story we bought

 

A global message, yes maybe so

Just a wake-up call to open our eyes

As today the world did not end

Time to kiss that Mayan calendar good-bye

      Thank you Fred. I never did buy into that old prediction of the world ending according to some Mayan calendar. And on that day, I had this poem all ready to post. ; )

      I love your poem. I was always intrigued by that calendar! I don't know if they meant to open up our eyes or if they ran out of space. You wrote a very very great poem!!

        Thank you Christina, I never really put much thought into the whole prediction about that Mayan calendar, so I wrote this in advance of that date and posted it on the diary site I was on. I still find it amusing. Thanks for reading and your compliment. ; )
