Creature Comfortings

Tune: Lasst Uns Erfreuen

('All creatures of our God and King')

********

O LORD, your works how manifold

Cannot by humans all be told

Alleluia, Alleluia!

In wisdom you have made them all

In them we rejoice and enthrall

O praise Him, O praise Him

Alleluia, Alleluia, Alleluia!

The earth full of your riches is

We see, observe, confess to this

Alleluia, Alleluia!

Sea, land, and under earth there be

All creatures you made perfectly

All your wonders, All your wonders

Alleluia, Alleluia, Alleluia!

In sea and rivers, lakes, waters

There be fish and abundant stores

Alleluia, Alleluia!

Those you ordain in ocean's depths

Your way in the sea, there your steps

All marine life, All marine life

Alleluia, Alleluia, Alleluia!

On earth be animals great, small

They inhabit it, one and all

Alleluia, Alleluia!

Each one you feed, you do provide

Give drink to them, they here reside

All things living, All things living

Alleluia, Alleluia, Alleluia!

And flying fowl aloft the skies

With gift of flight they do arise

Alleluia, Alleluia!

Too creeping things, insects many

Countless varied species there be

Birds and bees and all fine beasties

Alleluia, Alleluia, Alleluia!

So help us Lord, your care-takers

Conservation desires to stir

Alleluia, Alleluia!

To tend environment, respect

Your world, all in it, not neglect

Till new earth come, Till new earth come

Alleluia, Alleluia, Alleluia!

Here St Francis' example be

Of twelfth and thirteenth century

Alleluia, Alleluia!

He in Assisi and around

Cared for all creatures, love profound

Holy memory, Holy memory

Alleluia, Alleluia, Alleluia!

The world and all in it is yours

Send us your Spirit, fresh outpours

Alleluia, Alleluia!

Guard from all ill, creation bless

Prosper with harmoniousness

You Lord of all, you Lord of all

Alleluia, Alleluia, Alleluia!

Good write Orchi, it is a pity that homo sapiens is trying to destroy it all.
